Sales of the Windows 7 family pack are set to cease at the end of this year. According to Amazon, sales of the family pack will end once they’ve run out of stock or on December 31st, whichever happens soonest.
The family pack has been gratefully received by many households since its release, it gives users 3 separate Windows 7 licenses that they can install on computers in the household and allowed users to upgrade from either Windows XP or Windows Vista for Windows 7 for just $150.
Microsoft pulled the family pack from stores after only 6 weeks last year without warning much to the anger of many consumers with many saying it was a “dumb move” by Microsoft. The package was priced at $150, while Amazon sold it at a discounted $125.
Users saved over $200 by purchasing the 3 Windows 7 licenses as a family pack than if they were to purchase 3 separate Windows 7 licenses.
Microsoft have always said that the family pack was only a limited time offer but still continue to sell it on their online e-store. After some inquiries were made to Microsoft, they confirmed that the Windows 7 family pack will in fact cease to be sold on the 31st of December.
The family pack has been very popular, and it held the number 8 spot in Amazons software bestseller list and it will be sad to see it go.
So if you’re on the fence about purchasing the Windows 7 Family Pack, now is the time to do it, and do it quick before stocks run out. We don’t know if Microsoft will ever run this promotion again so it’s better to take advantage of it now and save yourself over $200
