On the heels of the price hike for Xbox LIVE gold members comes some positive news. Among some some of the new features coming soon to Xbox LIVE is the addition of Hulu Plus in 2011. I remember hearing word that Microsoft was in talks with Hulu and many speculated that a Hulu announcement was going to come at the unveiling show of the Kinect at E3. Sadly, this never happened, but it looks like it might be coming soon enough.
If you are a current gold member of the Xbox LIVE service, you probably received this email today:
Maybe I’m missing something, but I believe this is the first confirmed mention of Hulu Plus actually coming to the Xbox experience. With Windows Media Center access, ESPN 3, Netflix, Zune music+videos and last.fm it looks like Microsoft is priming the Xbox 360 to be the complete living room device for delivering media to your TV.
This makes me feel a little better about raising the gold member price, but I think Microsoft needs to follow up on their promise to continue delivering quality services to the Xbox 360.
