I recently wrote an article about Google Chrome being the latest browser to finally take advantage of the Windows 7 taskbar preview feature for individual tabs. This feature was one of Aero effects (Aero Peek) introduced to Windows 7. It was something, I and many others have been waiting for but I guess there is still people out there who find this feature annoying.
So here’s how you go about disabling it for the various different browsers;
Internet Explorer:
To disable tab previews in IE just go to Tools -> Internet Options. The under the General tab you want to click on the Settings under the Tabs heading.
A new window open up and you will see a list of options. Uncheck the option “Show previews for individual tabs in the taskbar” to disable the feature in the Internet Explorer web browser.

Firefox:
If your using Firefox, you can disable the taskbar previews by going to the about:config configuration screen. To access this, you simply go to the address bar at the top of Firefox and type in about:config and hit enter. Then in the filter bar that appears type in browser.taskbar.previews.enable. If this is the first time you’ve done this Firefox may ask you to confirm that you know what you’re doing.

Now simply double click where it says browser.taskbar.previews.enable and you should see the it change from True to False in the Value field.
Opera:
And finally to disable this feature in Opera which was just added with the latest release, go to the address bar just like in Firefox and type in opera:config then hit enter.
This will then bring you into the preferences editor.
Then in the quick find search bar, type in Use Windows 7 Taskbar Thumbnails and uncheck the box to disable this feature and save.
At the moment there is not option to turn of this feature in the latest version of Google Chrome as it’s only a developers build so the chances are you don’t even have this feature at the moment.
