I have been reading a lot of these websites that claimed the iPad would fail even before it came out and have to laugh at the way they all tried to drag the iPad down. Most of the claims are based around a closed system, with limited access to flash, but it seems that all these commentators missed the boat when it came to what the iPad was all about. It is about appealing to the large group of people out there who really only want something that works right out of the box. They don’t want to worry about installing drivers, messing with widgets or customising their device to the ‘n’ degree. My only question to most of them is that in hindsight, do they feel daft for slating a product that has done the complete opposite of what they told us?

As a side note, I love the fact that the advert at the top of the screen is for an iPad app…oh the irony…

The first working version of Windows that anyone used at home was Windows 95, which came out a full 11 years after the first Mac. Do you have any idea how many millions of Macintosh computers were sold in those 11 years? Also, just because you couldn’t afford one… And when was the last time you looked at Mac sales figures?

Can you say, “sour grapes”? Boy, Windows people REALLY can’t handle the success of Apple, can they? How screwed is that? Windows dominates over 95% of the entire marketplace, but Windows people just can’t deal with Apple having 5%. What is so funny is, Apple dictates EVERYTHING Microsoft does. All they ever do is sit by and copy Apple, so you’d think Windows people would be appreciative, thankful, because if it wasn’t for Apple you’d still be using DOS. To me, its not just that he made wrong predictions based on uneducated guesses. He has written numerous articles about Win 7 and clearly loves it. Here his bias towards Win clearly shows up. And that, as an expert or a writer, is completely inexcusable. thousands of people wrote about iPad win or fail predictions, but those were just commenters. You have to be more level-headed and unbiased to be a blogger on a website which a lot of people read. Its a basic question about maturity in thought.

In the right bottom cornerof this webpage, it says – ‘Tools’ and it has an arrow that points upwards. Towards your name.

Here are the basics of posting as an expert – 1. Try not to absolutely bash or love the products. You will alienate a lot of people. 2. Stop assuming why the companies are doing what they are doing. Its almost always a complex business strategy. 3. Stop being biased. We know you LOVE Windows 7, but that should not be the reason to unnecessarily diss the competition.

Its easy to see how your article looks stupid and biased in retrospect, but hey, you decided to post this acerbic article and this is the internet.

What Todd says. It’s beats a laptop and a desktop, at home or office, when traveling, attending conferences, hanging at coffeehouses, whatever. It’s a more comfortable and convenient form factor than any computer we’ve seen. I use my iMac and MacBook Pro a lot less now. I use it for everything except development. You don’t own one, you haven’t tried it, so how can you speak to its utility and practicality?

You’ve clearly never used one. It’s the perfect couch computer and cafe reader. If you want to ‘get comfortable’ with your laptop in a bunch of places it doesn’t fit, go for it. The ipad is my meeting and travel and couch and light use computer, and gets a couple hrs of use a day on average. Before bashing one, if possible, you should realize that.

That is just a stupid thought. Look, many iPads are sold. I know that. I realise. And I expected it. Because it is a stunning device. It is nice, it has a great screen, nice resolution, ideal you would say. But… what’s the use of it? On the go? Too big to put it into pocket, so you would have to carry a bag, but then you could also just take a laptop with you. At home? No, because there you have a computer. Conclusion: the Apple iPad is absolutely fascinating, and that is why so many people bought it. However, when it comes to utility, the iPad is actually useless. And I think that everyone of you should realise that, before buying if possible.

7 months later 6 million sold and not one competitor has managed to realese a device on the same scale as the ipad the Dell streak in my eyes is a massive fail.the samsung galaxy tab is 7 inch phone mishmash with a fragmented os undercut apples price considerably no it’s more expensive if you take into account apple 10 inch screen everything you’ve claimed in this editorial is wrong totally wrong do you actually know what your talking about lol

Catch up? ALL the ipad has going for it is fanboyism. It has fewer features than a seven year old HP tablet, as well as being smaller.

It can only run one program at a time, has less storage space, and no connectivity but wifi, so no way to save stuff to get it off the tiny HD.

Steve jobs could take a dump in a plastic box, name it ‘iPood’, announce it in an ‘event’ you had to pay to get into and you’d still be begging him to take your money.
