Windows 7 Utilities: CSMenu (if you want the classic-style menu back)

Do you miss the old start button classic-menu style? Me neither, but for those who do…CSMenu.

One of the things that I often like to post about are simple, small programs and utilities that I or friends of mine have found and have shared that have made my life easier. Some of these programs are useful for me and some are useful for others that I know. A particular program that falls into the latter category is CSMenu.

Simply put, CSMenu is a very small program which gives the Windows 7 user an option to use a classic menu, which is not an option in the new OS. This particular program is not useful for me, but I found it because my grandfather wanted a substitute start menu to replace the style of the menu he had in Windows XP. This was not because he couldn’t figure out Window 7’s menus, but rather that he just preferred the classic menu from previous versions of Windows.

Oddly enough, Windows 7 does not include a classic option that previous versions of their OS have. If you are one of those people who would like the classic-style menu back then CSMenu might be for you.

To give CSMenu a try:

Download the program here.

After installing, CSMenu will automatically create your program icons and ask you if you would like to run the program.

If you decide that you do not want to use the classic menu, you can exit the program by closing it in the system tray.

Pretty straight-forward stuff. If you are not a fan of the new superbar and menu style, then you may want to check out this nifty little program for Windows 7. Let me know below if you or anyone you know would find this program useful.
