Many of the artists renditions and stories behind the image are put forth to explain the image:

  • Requiem: The artist wanted to describe a network of planets orbiting a binary neutron star system whiteness the most powerful event in the known universe.
  • Paradise Lost: The artist was rendering a supernova, an exploding star and its effects on the other objects in space.
  • Mantle: At the heart of an alien construction project is the Mantle, a technical device that will create a galaxy.
  • Phoenix Rising: A nebula construction.
  • Fractured Tranquility II:  The artist has a story about this image: “What was once a system blessed with the most tranquil and beautiful worlds has been turned into a system of fractured dead worlds splintered by vast crystal formations and immense storms. Approximately 2 months prior to this point a large comet, not native to this system, passed through and as it heated in splintered and rained small crystal fragments over every world in the system before finally crashing into the larger sun in the system. These crystals grew with ferocious speed when exposed to heat, the hotter it was the faster they grew. Some made it into the planets core and split the worlds apart. You can even see the impact zone on the largest sun, a crystal citadel millions of miles high. But due to this the star will soon die.”
  • Ascendancy: Here is another story behind the image. “ An advanced alien race creates its most advanced piece of technology yet, A huge structure built to transport an entire race to a new home far away from the enemies it had made during its time in this galaxy. As their giant ships, powered by miniature suns, close in on the structure its energy grabs the ships, wraps them in energy and then strips them down  into individual particles before blasting them off to their new home through a wormhole the array creates. Once they are all through the array will be destroyed leaving no means for anyone to follow them. My new alien super structure piece showing a huge structure called the array that has the ability to create a wormhole to another galaxy. ”
  • Rigel: The inspiration behind this image is the star Rigel.
  • Reverence : The artist is interested in several astronomical objects. Here depicting a huge galaxy cluster with a very active galaxy collision as the focal point which shows a dynamic object in action. At the center of  this galaxy is a super massive blackhole at its core.
  • Reborn: In this image a proto-planetary system is in its early stages of creation. It has a system of gas giants where currently they are only only balls of molten and solid rock but the large gas clouds around them will one day form the planets with a thick gaseous atmosphere.
  • Unjust Fate:  The artist in this image was concerned about multiple lush worlds but began its steady precipitation towards its inevitable end several hundred years earlier when its star began to die. Now after a while  the once lush worlds are nothing but dead barren dusty worlds, their atmosphere faded long ago. As the worlds float silently in the dark of space, their sun now on the very brink of death.
  • Toward Enlightenment:  In thousands of years this alien race lived with the godly sight of a galactic core which iluminated one side of there world and even out shined their own sun. Living with this sight this galactic marvel became revered by this race who saw it as their god, they beleived it was there goal in life to reach it and become one with there god and be reunited with lost friends, family, and loved ones.

Divided

  • Core V2.0: Here the artist is looking at the largest of the alien mega structures, a huge artificial solar system powered by two suns .  The story behind this is that the entire thing was constructed to be a legacy to their civilization, everything they ever were, all their technology, all their culture and arts was placed within its giant data banks. It is a giant library of an entire race, and a symbol of their artistic abilities. So here is Core as it should have been before.
  • Eternal Collision: It shows two galaxies during a collision thats been going on for millions of years and will go on for millions more. Inspired by the Mice Galaxy NGC4676.
  • Pillars Of Hope: The main focal point is the large planet, half which is coated with a huge city and massive beams of light ejecting from the planet also a moon which is being energised by one of these pillars of light so it can be given power. Then another sight is the huge space tower, a giant tower that stretches deep into space and is used as a docking station, living space, and everything else required for a small self contained country to function, around that can be seen several smaller towers from the cities.
  • Renovatio: Revovatio, which means roughly Rebirth or Renewal in Latin. That is what the image hopes to capture.
  • Hidden by: The planet behind the nebula was an accident
