Now, reverse roles – you’re the assistant, offering help to your beleaguered friend or family member.
If they have emailed you an invitation file, download it and double click it. Then, get the password from the person you’re helping an enter it. You can also use Easy Connect, but keep in mind what I mentioned before – both users’ firewalls must support Easy Connect connections.
For IT professionals offering help to someone, there’s another option here – click the Advanced connection option for help desk link. Here, you can input the remote system’s IP address to connect to it. Your network and the remote computer will have to be setup to allow Remote Assistance connections.
Now, once you’ve opened the invitation file, you’ll be asked to input the 12-digit alphanumerical password displayed on the assistee’s screen.
Once the assistant has entered the password, the assistee will see a message asking them to confirm.
Great! You’ve established a connection.
