Try to research the apps you plan to use before deciding. Many big apps like Microsofts own Visual Studio and Visual Basic won't even install on 64 bit systems. So some microsoft apps lose microsoft compatibility, go figure. I've had problems with several other programs as well.

There are a few other advantages to 64-bit you left out. With 64-bit computing you have more processing power and a performance advantage since applications can process huge data operations more quickly. You also have more security with the 64-bit version of Windows 7 because it comes with the Kernel Patch Protection and Data Execution Protection features. Of course there are other issues to consider with 64-bit including possible driver issues, higher memory consumption and no compatibility with 16-bit software. If you are thinking about installing the 64-bit version of Windows 7, this post might help you out http://bit.ly/1XCLPT

Absolutely not. The minimum system requirement can be said to be 2GB RAM (Though u can run it comfortably even with less RAM)...The 4GB thing pops up just to take advantage of the 4th GB onwards which 64bit system offers & 32bit cannot offer. If u run RAM intensive apps then its a big boon cause u use less or no swap file...If u r a net surfer u wont feel the difference. If u run a 32bit app say sketchup on 64bit OS...it will still use only 3 GB RAM approx & wont use the rest even if ur system has 8GB RAM...so to take full advantage of 64bit u need native 64bit apps

I am currently running windows 7 64 bit with 2 gb of ram and 512mb of video ram. And 7 is working like a champ. so your statement about needing 4 gbs. is completely inaccurate.

Just a small correction to a statement within the article. It would be more accurate to say 'early reports from sources within Microsoft suggest that Windows 7 may be the final Windows version to ship with a 32 bit option'. None of the leaks so far about Windows 8 have been backed up by any official statement from Microsoft, so it's wrong to imply they've already made a pronouncement about the future of 32 bit Windows.

u forgot someting. 32 bit os only allow 2GB Ram per apps/games. even if u have 3gb ram(max on 32 bit). while x64 will allow more than 2gb ram depends on how many ram u have.

Just a small correction, from the Windows 7 system requirements page:
? 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

While you may take advantage of more than 4GB of RAM on a 64 bit version, it is not strictly necessary to run it.
