I use Norton 360 Startup manager to choose what I want to run. I can either delay or prevent services like Adobe launcher, HP update, Java updater etc. running, so my PC is still really fast with Win 7. Bootup is 3 times faster as Vista!

I assume some other Internet Security suites have this functionality.

There are also free apps that can do this too: Advanced System Care, Glary Utilities.

Haven't much ecperience in using this on Windows 7 yet, but it works well with Vista - notifying me of security issues and new updates to programs etc.

...unfortunatley it doesn't automatically download the updates, but usually has a link to the software owner's web site download page.

It seems to be very thorough. I recommend that you try it.

This would especially be fantastic for enterprise users. Do you know how much easier my life would be if we could update Adobe Reader, Flash, Java, and Firefox through Windows Update and the WSUS service?

I don't think I can put it into words.
