History Menu (10 Out Of 10)
Assuming that this menu lets you reverse actions taken by MSE, I give it a 10. However, no malware was found on my machine, so I didn’t really have a test subject; so I assumed that MSE would allow you to return a file to its normal state from this page. If not, then feel free to consider the rating a 7 (no program is perfect, every protection solution should have this option).
Other than that, only good things can be said. The three filters provided by Microsoft each have an explanation, again making the program as newb-proof as possible (always a good thing). It would have been nice if it found something, though, so I could see the options provided (would have been a good thing, but a bad thing at the same time).

The settings section really blew me away and finished up this article. Not only was the entire frontend ridiculously easy to understand and manipulate, the settings contained a description of every option and didn’t attempt to hide anything from the user. Not much can be said, except for a pat on the back to Microsoft. I was completely blown away.

I originally didn’t want to write a review on MSE as I was sure it would be absolutely scathing, but I was pleasantly surprised. Microsoft has shown that it is still a powerful contender in a growing market that can still supply users with exactly what they need. The software giant flexed it’s strength, and really blew away some of the competition; all we need now are some comparatives to other anti-malware products and see how MSE stacks up to some competition. We already know that it’s won in terms of usability, the only question remaining is if the engine can also outsmart the others.
In the meantime, let me again congratulate Microsoft on a job well done. This is one of very few proprietary products that I enjoy and can recommend, so every reader should download it and give it a go. Why don’t you leave a comment describing what you think?
