I've pre-ordered windows 7 home premium E version from the UK (July 30th) from amazon UK. I would like to do an in-place upgrade from my vista (service pack 2) laptop to windows 7 rather than a clean install. Is that still possible from this full version disc? If the in-place upgrade doesn't work as well, will I then be able to do a clean install instead on the same computer using the same disc and windows key?

as long as you pre-order Windows 7 before 1/9 you will get the full version for the price of the 'E' version

I have pre-ordered my copy of win7 and have been assured through what I have read that I will be presented with the full version as apposed to the upgrade. This is good for me as I have built my machine from scratch and have only run 7 on it. (beta and rc).

However, what I am trying to find out is which version you will get if you pre-order now? Will it still be the full version or just the upgrade package?

There is NO discount in Sweden. It's not even possible to preorder it unless you bought a computer with Vista or a retail copy of Vista after July 26th, in which you will get it only for the cost of shipping. Those who bought Vista at launch or before July 26th are basically screwed.
