August 20th will be the last day you will be able to download the free Windows 7 Release Candidate.
Windows 7 RC is a very good product and safe enough to run as a primary OS, so if you’re not planning on upgrading to Windows 7 for a while after it’s launched on October 22nd, or you need a copy for a 2nd or 3rd machine, then using a copy of Windows 7 might be a solution as it will work until next May 2010. After May 2010 it will start to shut-down every 30 mins.
Is anyone still using a build older than the RC, or is everyone using the Windows 7RC or Windows 7 RTM build now?
