If you are interested in Windows 7 but did not have the time or desire to install a beta or release candidate of the upcoming operating system. The Windows 7 Simulator is a Microsoft Silverlight application simulating the Windows 7 operating system that runs in web browsers. It is obviously a limited simulation that concentrates at this time on the login process and Windows 7 desktop. Even that is limited to displaying the Windows 7 start menu and some other features of the Windows 7 operating system albeit very limited. It is for example not possible to launch applications, display windows or perform right-clicks on the computer desktop.
The Windows 7 Simulator in its current stage is not much more than viewing some screenshots of the Windows 7 operating system. It is however likely that the functionality will be extended in the future to demonstrate various aspects of Windows 7.
