Microsoft seem to be using a very agile development process to create Windows 7, with builds being created at record speeds. Windows 7 leaks are getting so numerous now, that Windows 7 Build 7231 was leaked within hours of Windows 7 Build 7229 being leaked on torrents.
Many users have wondered if the numerous links have been sanctioned by Microsoft as part of some clever way to test Windows 7 outside of the official releases. I was lucky enough to have a meeting with Microsoft’s Windows 7 team in the UK a few weeks ago, where I was able to ask about the numerous leaks. I also very stupidly said that I was running ‘Windows 7 Build 7xxx’ , which at the time was ahead of the official, in an attempt to demonstrate how much I knew about Windows 7. Luckily my boss didn’t realise the implications of what I’d said, or the response of the Microsoft team who said ‘…we won’t ask how you got your hands on that build…’!!
Microsoft’s response to my question about official leaks, was ‘most definitely not’ and that they were working hard to trace the source of the leaks, and that they were paying a lot of attention to ‘Russia’. Given their response, I wonder how long it will take them to trace the owners of wzor.info who are the source of almost all Windows 7 Leaked Builds? Do you think Microsoft will be able to track them down?
