The Windows 7 Beta program has been the strongest I’ve ever seen. The Windows 7 RC1 is so good I have to remind myself that it’s not a full release, and that it’s supposed to contain bugs. I’m now running it on all of my PCs, and will probably do so well beyond the official launch of Windows 7, with the final copy installed on only my main machine.
Because I’m expecting to run the RC1 build for a long time, I’ve started to tweak, mod and personalise my installations. with the previous builds it just wasn’t worthwhile with a new build coming out every couple of days. A good source for Windows 7 tips and tricks is this post which contains 70 Useful Windows 7 Tips & Tricks.
I personally like the following tips:
- #2 Screen Calibration
- #13 Multi-threaded file copy
- #24 Custom power button
- #34 Run A Program As An Administrator
- #54 Advanced Disk Defragmentation
