40% Of PC Users In The Gulf Running Windows 7 Release Candidate

Microsoft have reported that 40% of PC users in the Gulf have downloaded and are running the windows 7 Release Candidate, and that by the time the product launches 80% of Windows users will have tried at least one build.

“According to our estimates approximately 40 per cent of our customers – including enterprise, mid-market and IT enthusiasts – have tried and tested these versions,” Wilson Xavier, Windows Business Group Manager, Microsoft Gulf, told Emirates Business.

That’s an absolutely staggering number.   I’d love to see some stats on how many people are running a Windows 7 build in the rest of the world.  This could be a good thing for Microsoft as I’m sure many of these users will buy Windows 7 rather than go back to Vista or XP when the trial period ends.
