Hello to all,

As the new  staff writer for Windows7News.com I thought I ought to introduce myself to you, the loyal readership.  My name’s Mike Halsey.  I’m an IT support engineer / consultant by years of experience, and also a teacher based in Sheffield, UK.  I’m the author of the free Windows Vista Power Users Guide that seemed to go down very well with the public, though it was initially written to stop my mother and friends asking me dumb questions about Vista all the time.  :o}

I’ve been a beta (technical) tester for Microsoft now for going on a good few years and my view is to look at things from the end-users point of view, kind’a like a daily-usability guy.  I publish general PC support articles on my own website, www.thelongclimb.com and I’ll be publishing a Windows 7 Power Users Guide later in the year.

I’m looking forward to helping Martin and the excellent team here keep you up to date with the latest Windows 7 news, and contributing, I hope, a few little gems and surprises along the way.  ;o)  Feel free to check me out on Facebook or by email and if you have any questions about Windows 7 then drop me a line and I’ll do my very best to help.

For today at least, Mike
