Beta For Localized Windows 7 Editions To Start

Russian news magazine The Vista reported about the upcoming Mini-Beta of Windows 7 which describes the testing phase of localized editions of Windows 7 that have not been released in the official builds yet. While the Russian magazine mentions only the Russian version of Windows 7 it is very likely that it applies to all other localized Windows 7 editions.

The begin of the Mini-Beta will also mark the end of the localization period in the Windows 7 development with testers being asked to discover translation bugs or errors and submit suggestions for better wordings. The testers will receive their copy of Windows 7 at the Microsoft Connect portal which will also be place to submit reports. The most successful and active testers are said to receive prices including localized editions of Windows 7 Ultimate.

The test basis is the Windows 7 Release Candidate which obviously means that Microsoft still aims at a late April release of Windows 7 for selected testers and a public release in May.
