Bitlocker and Bitlocker To Go are exclusive features of Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise. All other Windows 7 editions do not include that feature. Bitlocker can be used to encrypt partitions or drives that are connected to the computer system so that their data can only be accessed after supplying the password that can decrypt the data. The main difficulty of working with Bitlocker is its limited reach. We mentioned earlier that Bitlocker is only included in two of the six Windows 7 editions. This means that only those two editions will be able to encrypt and decrypt those drives and portable devices.
Encrypting drives with Bitlocker on the other hand is an easy straightforward process. All that needs to be done by the user is to right-click the device in the Windows 7 operating system and pick the Bitlocker option from the menu that is popping up.

A wizard guiding the user through the installation will be displayed.

The data on encrypted drives and portable devices can only be accessed after entering the password that has been used to decrypt the data.
