Does this apply if you have a partition w/o an operating system installed but is formatted for NTFS on the same hard drive as the windows 7 install? I use the extra partition as my 'media drive' but its not showing up in windows 7.. any help is appreciated!

I don’t what you mean, if you assign leter G: for the missing drive (which is Vista drive), than it will be G: only in windows7. It will still be C: in vista.

Warning! The article doesn’t say anything about you cannot change letter of the boot/system partition once it’s assigned! This means, if you don’t want your old “C:” drive become the last letter in the list (after CDROM), then change the letters of all drives and free up the needed letter for your missing HDD BEFORE you assign a letter for the missing HDD.

first you install 7 then vista after installing vista computer will directely boot in vista give starup repair of 7 then see. if it dosent work then i will working on that just wait

I had the same problem with x64 and x32 win7 that if ur hdd is separate in 2 partitions then if u don`t install win 7 in first then when u log in and check ur hdd u will se only one off 2 drives so its cind of bad thing I hope that it will be corected

this is a bug?… i think this is one bug i wouldn’t want fixed… when i installed xp on a pc running vista, i even used a third party bootloader just to hide the inactive OS’s partition…

In my opinion it’s not something that’s broken.
I have a triple bootÂ now (Vista + Windows 7 32 & 64 bit) and I like it that the other OS’s don’t have their own drive letter. Keeps it nice and clean.

The same problem as on Build 6936 x64! I have 2 Hard drives on first i have two partitions on second i have one. when i installed Win7 on first partition it didn’t recognized second partition. So i dedicted a drive letter on my second partition. I Think this is the bug!
