Hm. I agree with the "God-Mode" idea. Although some people may consider it 'useless', a god mode could be very nice. People that actualy KNOW what they are doing can use god mode to completely turn off UAC. I wouldn't care if I am deleting System32, I don't want the UAC doing ANYTHING while I am in god mode.
Im a over-clocker, so I would prefer something more like XP, where people that know what they are doing can completely create they're own themes and such. But Vista, that's much harder to do and discover with this crappy UAC stuff.

spyware developing was my dark humour. I know what Y mean and Y got the point when doing maintenance for example. But in "admin mode" Y should only use applications what Y know that don`t contain extra stuff. I once installed harddisc temperature tool from company that should be legimate but that installation package contains trojans.
So it`s good to have antivirus and uac. Microsoft shoud give us a proper way to install software as standasrd user without uac promts, always using registry and filesystem redirection if application is not coded to use correct locations. setting for allow install without prompt or prompting and then making thruly limited user install.

you miss understood me. i meant that for times when an it at a school, net cafe or just about any maintenance job gets a windows pc. allowing you to install any utilities, change configs, edit the registry without being bothered. it would be nice, however a day after i posted that they brought an easy to change UAC (and disable) slider witch was the biggest reason to have the maintnance mode.

Developer mode is nonsense. I`m a developer also and I don`t need that kind of mode. When all developers write applications with uac guide lines there will be less uac promts. What kind of applications you are writing spyware perhaps ? Uac is annoying only because Y get familiar to way of other windows releases.

something that may be extremely useful might be a sort of "Developer mode" where every uac anyance is disabled, advanced sharing is on, system and hidden files are shown. basicly a god mode, make it run through the comand prompt. developers are a big voice on the media and the internet, if you can make them happy then you've done great change in the perspective of the operating sistem. i mean its not that hard to make it possible.

something that may be extremely useful might be a sort of "Developer mode" where every uac anyance is disabled, advanced sharing is on, system and hidden files are shown. basicly a god mode, make it run through the comand prompt. developers are a big voice on the media and the internet, if you can make them happy then you've done great change in the perspective of the operating sistem. i mean its not that hard to make it possible.
