First of all rodney, thats BS, you didn't get vista professional and install it on a 4 year old computer and have it work better than xp, if it did, it's because you're a retard, and formatting your HD probably wiped all the crap that was slowing your XP computer down. you are a douche.
second of all...Neil windows 7 MIGHT be a great OS, and if someone is having trouble with vista, they were having trouble with xp, thats the way it is. no one should complain about vista, not that it's great...it's slow, and i've never been asked if I was sure I thought I was making the right decision before it came along. other than that the only people that should have problems are the people that are trying to hack it or mod it, cause it's pretty secure, and the people that are too dumb to upgrade their hardware, coming to me saying vista won't work! NO, you retard, it won't recognize your dot matrix printer because it's the first one ever built, and vista is asking you to move on. third revolutn, pretty much everything still works on windows 2000 so i don't know why you felt compelled to change. I absolutely hate it when people come up to me and say, I don't want a computer with vista, it sucks. NO my good friend, you suck, and you are only saying vista sucks because you are a sheep and you listen to everything everyone says, and you probably shouldn't have a computer. i dont work for microsoft, in my opinion win98 was the best OS made by them, and they have yet to impress me Ubuntu would be sweet if everything was compatible with it. Mac's are sweet even though not everything is compatible with them.

I seriously hope they overhaul the UI in the next couple of months. Vista and XP where both desperately ugly - I just hope they can make something beautiful instead of extracting boring, lowest-common-demonitator and souless ideas from focus groups.

"And as a headsup, Vista had less major bugs and security issues in its first year than XP did. People seem to have rose coloured glasses when remembering XP. It was even more buggy and problematic when it first came out! it’s just been on the market for around 8 years, and has had 3 service packs. Vista has been out for a little over a year."

Which is why I stayed on W2k until nearly SP2 for XP.
Actually W2K did everything I needed and I'd probably still be on it, if I hadn't felt compelled to upgrade at home to stay up with changes at work.

I've used Vista and really really really really dislike it.
I hope to be able to wait for W7 before being compelled to upgrade again.

Um guys... of course it looks like Vista, at this point all Windows 7 is, is Vista Ultimate with a number of changes in the code. So on the surface, it will look very similar to Vista, but it will be small things at the moment that are different.
Expect major visual changes to come later, once it actually gets into beta stage etc.

I find it funny also that the people who complain about how terrible Vista is, have probably never used it, or have only ever briefly tried it. I've been using it for over a year, and have no major complaints. Yes, it's more of a resource hog than XP, but what did you want? A new OS that didn't do anything more than the old one?

And as a headsup, Vista had less major bugs and security issues in its first year than XP did. People seem to have rose coloured glasses when remembering XP. It was even more buggy and problematic when it first came out! it’s just been on the market for around 8 years, and has had 3 service packs. Vista has been out for a little over a year.

I find it funny also that the people who complain about how terrible Vista is, have probably never used it, or have only ever briefly tried it. I’ve been using it for over a year, and have no major complaints. Yes, it’s more of a resource hog than XP, but what did you want? A new OS that didn’t do anything more than the old one?

You know it does look like Vista, but did anyone notice that it seems to be way faster in the searches? I mean the window transition between what was typed in was wicked fast, I hope that stays!

Windows Vista itself was bad enough, so why the heck is Microsoft even bothering to create a new OS that looks just like it? I guess when you make billions, you can do anything you want.
